First Aid – Back Pain While Opening Pit

Operator suffered back injury while lifting a hydrant pit lid that was jammed. Pressure to complete the operation due to waiting aircraft. Pit lid may have been air-locked or affected by cold weather.

After medical assessment this was not a lost time injury.
