JIG, the JIG Team and JIG Council

JIG is a non-profit organisation. The roles of JIG Council and the JIG Employees are explained here.

The Joint Inspection Group (JIG), founded in the early 1970’s, is the world-leading organisation for the development of aviation fuel supply standards covering the entire supply chain for Aviation Fuels from refinery to wing-tip. Our Standards are followed by both Members and non-Members all around the world. Our Mission is to increase aviation safety worldwide by extending our reach to more aviation fuel handling organisations and to assist their operational excellence programmes through enrollment in our Inspection Programme.

In 2002 JIG was incorporated as a company with no capital, but guaranteed by the “Guarantor Members” who are now BP, CHEVRON, ENI, EXXONMOBIL, KPC, SHELL and TOTAL. It became a membership organisation open to companies involved in the Jet Fuel handling business. We are a NON-PROFIT organisation, ensuring that the revenue from Members is all reinvested in the work we do to accompany the publication and adoption of the Standards and our involvement in key industry initiatives and actions involving aviation fuels and fuel handling.
