JIG examines current issues through its committees, which are open to all members and serve as forums on trade-specific subjects.


Drawback Committee
Examines current and pending legislation regarding the modification of drawback procedures.
Chair: Terry Polino, Hogan & Hartson

Export Process Committee
Examines current U.S. export policies and regulations, and their effects on U.S. businesses.
Chair: Daniel Cannistra, PWC

Import and Informed Compliance Committee
Monitors regulations that affect import processing, and assists companies in developing adequate reasonable care and trade compliance procedures.
Co-Chair: Dick Belanger, Sidley Austin LLP

Co-Chair: Dick Abbey, Miller & Chevalier

International Agreements Committee
Focuses on global and regional trade organizations and agreements, including the WTO, the WCO, APEC, and the FTAA.
Chair: Andrew Shoyer, Sidley Austin LLP

Legislative Committee
Works with Congress to develop legislation that faciliates the import and export processes.

Supply Chain Security Committee
Addresses issues relevant to the secure movement of cargo and commerce across international borders.

Oversees JIG general policy and operations.
